Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez is being evaluated for a sore left shoulder after leaving Sunday’s spring training game, Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt said Monday.
Ramirez, who is hitting .233 this spring with two homers, two doubles and nine RBIs, sustained the injury when he slid into third base while stealing after hitting a double.
The Cleveland lifer, whose entire 13-year major league career has come with the Indians/Guardians since his 2013 debut, is a career .279 hitter with 285 home runs, 949 RBIs and 398 doubles across 1,609 games.
Ramirez, 33, is a seven-time All-Star and six-time Silver Slugger, and has finished in the top 10 in American League MVP voting eight times, including a second-place finish in 2020 and third-place finishes in 2017, 2018 and 2025.
