Houston Astros center fielder Jake Meyers left Wednesday’s game at Colorado with an injury.
Meyers was batting with two outs and runners on the corners in the second inning when he appeared to sustain an injury to his abdomen on a checked swing. He was briefly looked at by the trainer and manager Joe Espada before leaving the game.
Pinch hitter Brice Matthews replaced Meyers and delivered an RBI single to left to tie the game 1-1.
Meyers, 29, is in his sixth season — all with Houston. He is batting .243 with one home run and four RBIs through 11 games this season.
